Memphis woman accused of assaulting McDonald’s workers gets clobbered by coffee pot

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –  It was madness at McDonald’s. A brawl over burgers went viral on social media.

Cell phone video documents a customer who is accused of jumping through the window and attacking an employee.

“She needs to be in jail … ASAP,” said Omarion Ford, former Cheddar’s employee.

Witnesses say that woman was Kaitlin Brantley.

They say video shows her at McDonald’s on South Mendenhall Road fighting with the manager.

Brantley was one of the four people charged with aggravated assault after brutally attacking a Cheddar’s employee back in 2023.

“I’ve been depressed. People come up to me asking if I’m the Cheddar’s employee who got jumped,” said Ford.

Police said a woman drove up to the McDonald’s drive-thru window, and complained to the manager that her order was wrong.

Investigators said the manager tried to give the customer a new order.

But they say the woman became irate and started cursing at the manager.

The manager then refused to give the customer the order. That was when things got out of control.

Police said the customer opened and climbed through the drive-thru window and started fighting the manager.

They said the manager defended herself by hitting the suspect with the coffee pot at least nine times.

The customer started throwing items before exiting McDonald’s through the drive-thru window.

“I hope that pot knocks some sense into her,” said Latisha Ford, mother of former Cheddar’s employee.

Latisha Ford is the mother of the former Cheddar’s employee who, police say, was attacked by Brantley.

Ford said investigators said there is a possibility Brantley’s bond will be revoked as a result of this.

Ford said the suspect needs to be put behind bars and be held accountable for hurting restaurant employees.

“She is out here attacking people. Probation for what? I want justice for what she did to people in McDonald’s, and I want justice for my son,” said Latisha Ford.

Memphis Police said no arrests have been made.
